Business value and capability discovery
A technology proposal should begin with the performance change the business needs. Our discovery review helps leaders clarify that outcome and the capabilities required to sustain it.
When this review is useful
You may be considering an SAP programme, comparing investment options or trying to explain what a proposed transformation should achieve. A list of features and milestones is rarely enough to establish the value case.
We work with your stakeholders to connect the business constraint, intended outcome and required change. This creates a clearer basis for discussing scope, priorities and investment assumptions.
What we examine
- Business outcomes: the growth, productivity or resilience change you need, with a proposed baseline and measures.
- Capabilities: what your business must be able to do repeatedly, rather than a list of software functions.
- Operating model: responsibilities, processes, decision rights, governance and data required to make those capabilities work.
- Investment logic: how improved performance could create value, and which assumptions still require evidence.
What you receive
An agreed outcome statement, capability map, operating model gap assessment and prioritised next steps. The review can also identify baseline data needs, proposed benefit owners and questions for finance to validate.
A manufacturing example
A manufacturer wants more reliable delivery without increasing inventory. The first question is what limits reliability today. Demand visibility, capacity planning, materials availability and exception ownership may all matter. Those findings should inform the SAP scope, rather than assuming a new platform alone will resolve them.
This is an illustrative scenario, not a client result. Any targets or financial estimates need evidence from your business.
How the engagement works
We agree a focused scope, review selected documents and run workshops with relevant stakeholders. We then discuss the findings and decisions with you. The output is advisory; programme implementation requires a separate scope.
Next: assess SAP manufacturing readiness or review an existing investment proposal.
